Hull charity temporarily closes site following vandalism
ReNew says the safety of its staff and service-users is a top priority
A charity in Hull has temporarily closed its main office, following vandalism.
ReNew, which says it "offers free, confidential advice if you're struggling with drugs, alcohol, or problems at home," posted on Facebook to say its premises suffered "significant damage" last night (Tuesday 20th August).
As a result, it has closed temporarily.
It said in a post: "Due to an unfortunate incident of vandalism, our Beverley Road premises suffered significant damage overnight, and we must temporarily close our service. The safety of our staff and people that use our service is our top priority, and we are working diligently to assess the situation and make the necessary repairs.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. If you had an appointment scheduled for today, our team will be in touch with you directly to reschedule or to provide alternative support options.
"In the meantime, if you require urgent assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to your worker directly or visit our website for more information on our services.
"Please note that all of our other services and planned activities outside of our Beverley Road site will still be taking place.
"We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to restore our building to ensure a safe environment for everyone. We will update you as soon as we are able to reopen."
Humberside Police has been contacted for a comment.
