Re-appeal for information after Hull carjackings

Four cars were stolen across Hull and East Yorkshire on 3rd March

A Police spokesperson has said:

"The team of Detectives investigating the series of robberies where four cars were stolen across Hull and East Yorkshire on Friday 3 March are appealing for help from the public in locating a remaining stolen vehicle and a second suspect."

"In total four cars were stolen during the incident, however one remains outstanding despite exhaustive enquiries. Police are now asking for help from the public in locating the missing grey coloured Volvo V5 with the vehicle registration number BV58 XRS which was stolen from Fountain Road, Hull."

Detective Inspector Becky Dickinson from the Major Crime Team said:

“Since the incidents we have carried out a large number of enquiries in order to locate the grey Volvo V5. Despite these efforts it has not been spotted or captured on the roads since Friday 3 March. I believe the vehicle has been abandoned in a secluded location or stored out of view, and in order to locate I am appealing to the public to help us with any information on its whereabouts. If people think they can help they should call us immediately, but don’t tamper or approach with the vehicle as it may be vital to our on-going enquiries.”

Following the initial investigation, a man charged on Saturday 4 March with four counts of robbery, four counts of attempted robbery, two counts of assault with intent to rob, possession of an imitation firearm whilst committing a schedule one offence and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He remains remanded in custody.

The description of the second suspect from both victims and witnesses accounts suggest they were a man wearing a dark face covering and a dark shiny tracksuit.

DI Dickinson added:

“We would encourage anyone with information about the second suspect to call us even if they are unsure whether it will help the investigation. The smallest pieces of information can and will help us further our enquires. So if you can help us locate the stolen vehicle or the suspect call 101 quoting log 64 of 03/03/17.
