The Queen turns 90 today and to celebrate the milestone birthday, we have been speaking to people in our region who have had the honour of meeting Her Majesty on her visits to Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

In 1981, the Queen officially opened the Humber Bridge.

Alex Clarke was chair of the Humber Bridge Board at the time and along with his daughter, Vanessa Clarke, showed Her Majesty round.

Alex is nearly 100 now but has vivid memories of that day. He and Vanessa have been speaking to Viking and also explained some interesting facts about the Queen. You can watch a full video interview below:

The Queen also visited in Hull in 2009 when she opened the Queen's Centre for Oncology at Cottingham's Castle Hill Hospital in 2009.

Hull nurse Sarah Bates and her young daughter met Her Majesty when she opened the centre.

We met up with her to discuss what it was like meeting the Queen that day. You can watch a video interview with Sarah below:

To mark the Queen's 90th Birthday - beacons will be lit across the country tonight including Hull's Guildhall, Ross Castle in Cleethorpes and Normanby Hall near Scunthorpe.
