Police officer injured after bottles thrown at him during Grimsby match
Six people have been arrested after Grimsby's pre-season friendly at Blundell Park.
They lost 3-1 to Sheffield United yesterday afternoon.
Humberside police say there was a lot of trouble before and after the match, with one police officer suffering a head injury and possibly a fractured ankle after having bottles thrown at him.
Six people were arrested for various offences in and around the ground, including serious assault and affray
Earlier in the day, the force had said it was putting measures in place to provide reassurance - after around 2,000 Blades fans arrived in the town early.
All pubs in the Cleethorpes area voluntarily agreed to close between 5-7pm to try and prevent trouble
Humberside Police say they had a match commander and numerous additional patrols brought in, as with all big matches, to safeguard both the home and away fans separately.
