Plans For £3m Expansion Of Grimsby Eating Disorder Unit
Rharian Fields - based at Grimsby Hospital - has seen a 50% rise in the number of people coming to them for help.
People suffering with eating disorders in North East Lincolnshire could have to travel hundreds of miles for specialist treatment if the region's only inpatient unit isn't expanded.
Ever since Rharian Fields - which provides overnight care for people suffering with the condition - opened three years ago, the number of people using the service has continued to increase.
Last year - there was a 50% rise in the number of people staying at the centre and now plans for a £3m expansion which would see the centre more than treble in size have been submitted.
We've been speaking to Jess Camell who suffers with anorexia and has been staying at the centre. She told us it has been a lifeline for her. Listen to her full interview below:
