After attacks from so called Islamic State in Paris on Friday 13th of November, shortly followed by air strikes carried out by France people in North East Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire are being told to remain aware of anything they think might be suspicious.

Viking FM spoke to Detective Superintendent Clive Wain from the North East Counter Terrorism Unit who wants to reassure the public after the attacks...

'Any suspicious behaviour in crowded places or transport hubs. We want people to remain vigilant and trust their instincts. If it doesn’t feel right or look right, it’s probably not right. We are asking members of the community to trust their instincts and report in confidence to the police or anti-terrorist hotline.'

'We as the police depend massively on information from communities. Whether it’s about suspicious individuals or suspicious behaviours. We have had more reports than ever before over the last year and that needs to continue. Any piece of information you can give could be important. It may be the final piece of the jigsaw for the police.'

'If friends and family notice their loved ones posting or supporting extremist messages on social media. We encourage them to contact the police or other agencies, so we can offer support and intervene before it’s too late.'
