Excitement's building as thousands of people prepare to head to Wembley to cheer on North Ferriby United in the FA Trophy Final this weekend.

The club will make history when they take on Wrexham in the final of the competition on Sunday afternoon. It's the first time they've ever reached this stage in the competition.

Today, players will meet children at North Ferriby CE Primary School before setting off for the trip to London.

Club chairman, Les Hare, says it's an incredibly proud time for the club. He told Viking FM:

"For every body there is an immense amount of pride, the fact that a little club like North Ferriby as every body keeps calling us, are playing on the biggest stage of football at Wembley is just absolutely unbelieveable. Nobody ever expects to get to a Wembley final.

"The support we have received has been overwhelming. Well wishers and the good luck messages that we have had has just gone off the richter scale. Not only have we had messages from all over the country but all over the world. It is extraordinary how many countries are taking an interest. My brother and good friend are coming home from Australia specifically for this final, people are flying in from all over.

"Some of the greatest players in the world have never played at Wembley, so you can imagine for these guys who are semi-professional footballers with full-time jobs, the thought of being able to actually go and fulfill a boyhood dream is just beyond comprehension. It's Roy of the Rovers stuff."
