Humberside Police have begun a murder investigation after a man who was found injured in a property in Hull died in hospital.

44 year old Shane Boxall was found hurt in Alaska Street on Thursday 25 April.

Officers were called to the property at around 5.45am.

He died three days later in hospital on Saturday 27 April.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Jon Cross said: “I understand the concern that this incident is likely to have caused amongst the local community, but I would like to reassure people that we do believe this to be an isolated incident between people known to each other.

“Since we received the report, a dedicated team has been following extensive lines of enquiries including reviewing CCTV, house to house and forensic examinations.

“Two men were charged in connection with the assault on Friday 26 April. We are now in consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, following Shane’s death on Saturday, in relation to the initial charges.

“Those within the area can expect to see an increase in officers patrolling the area and I would ask anyone who has concerns to please speak to us.”
