The mum of Libby Squire - who was murdered after a night out in Hull says every woman has a right to feel safe on the streets.
It's after a rare life sentence was handed to the former police officer who killed Sarah Everard in London.
Lisa Squire is now calling for a change in the law, and urging people to come forward if they've been sexually assaulted.
She also wants killers to come face to face with victims' families. Lisa said:
“Currently as it stands you can't go and speak to the perpetrator unless they agree to. I think they should be forced to sit across the table from you, I want to ask him questions how did she die what did you do, what was the last thing she said? All those things I don't have answers to.”
The Prime Minister's pledged they'll do "everything possible" to improve safety, but she tells us she's heard promises before:
It's been two years since Libby was killed after a night out with friends in Hull, and Lisa now wants "lesser" sex crimes to be treated more seriously with stronger sentences.
Lisa added:
“We need actions, when we spoke earlier in the year to government, they promised better street lighting they promised all sorts of things that could help that could help keep women safe so I don't see an extra street lighting in our Towns and cities it would be great if police officers were around there's not enough police officers to go round.”
