Man threatens Hull Royal staff with a knife

A 29-year-old man has been arrested after an incident at Hull Royal Infirmary this morning.

Police say they were called following reports of an incident around 07.20 today (04/10).

It's reported that an altercation took place both inside and outside the hospital, with a man reportedly threatened staff with a knife.

​A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

Thankfully, nobody was physically harmed in the incident - but those involved have understandably been left shaken.

An armed response was sent to the site, and members of the public had intervened and are thought to have detained the man.

Police are thanking members of the public who were present and assisted in detaining the man which undoubtedly prevented anyone from being hurt.
