Man Dies After Being Pulled From Grimsby River
Police are investigating how he ended up in the River Freshney.
Police are investigating how a man ended up in a Grimsby River.
Despite efforts made by emergency services - he later died.
The call that a body was in the River Freshney came in at around 2.15pm yesterday.
When police got to the scene near Ripon Street, they pulled him from the water with the help of a member of the public.
He was given first aid and taken by ambulance to hospital - but died a short time later.
Now officers want to speak to anyone who may have seen the man, who's believed to be a 54 year old local, before he went into the water.
They also want to speak to the man who helped them get him out.
A post mortem will now take place to find out exactly how he died.
