Man convicted of murdering friend in Hull

A man who killed his friend in Hull in March, has today been found guilty of murder.
40-year-old Jason Joseph Clark was found in the hallway of a block of flats on Beech Close, just after 7.30am on Tuesday 9th March.
He'd suffered a total of 15 stab wounds, and died of his injuries.
Patrick Sean Clayton Jnr, 26, pleaded not guilty of murder, but was convicted by the jury at Hull Crown Court, following extensive DNA, CCTV and witness evidence.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Grant Taylor, said: “This individual took away the life of another man with no consideration for the impact that would have on Jason Clark’s loved ones.
“This was a callous, brutal crime which Mr Clark stood no chance of defending himself against or surviving.
“My thoughts remain with Mr Clark’s family and friends who have been incredibly strong throughout the investigation and trial.
“Whenever we receive a report that someone has been seriously injured or died at the hands of another, it understandably shocks and saddens the community. I hope that now this individual is facing a significant prison sentence, it goes some way to providing closure for Jason’s family and also reassures the community that Clayton cannot cause any further harm.”
Patrick Sean Clayton Jnr will be sentenced at Hull Crown Court on the afternoon of Tuesday 21st December.
