20-year-old Louis Thomas Fowler who is charged with the murder of 39-year-old Hull man Jason Kowalski has appeared in court today.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Hull Crown Court tomorrow.
Police were called at 8.12am on Monday reporting that a man had been stabbed outside an address on Westbourne Avenue.
Jason was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary by ambulance where he died a short time later from his injuries.
Jason Kowalski 's family have released the following tribute:
“Jason was well loved and will be missed by his family and friends. He spent his life looking out for other people and was a kind, caring man. He had been a truck driver until his recent illness and had spent some time in Zimbabwe as a young man building an orphanage as part of a Raleigh International program. As you might expect his family wish to be left alone at this time, to grieve. He leaves behind his mum, a twin sister and two young nephews. “
Senior investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Wendy North said:
"Hull born Jason Kowalski was stabbed outside his home on Westbourne Avenue yesterday morning and following a thorough investigation I can confirm we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. I would like to thank the local community for their assistance with the investigation so far and would urge any other witnesses who have not spoken to the force to call 101 quoting log 94 of yesterday.”
