A man has been charged after two large cannabis factories were found in Hull.

Detectives raided two properties in Beverley Road earlier this week, seizing drugs with an estimated street value of £100,000.

It was discovered that sophisticated equipment had been used and electricity had been stolen to power the operation.

The 21 year old man appeared at Hull Magistrates Court earlier charged with producing the drugs and abstracting electricity.

Tim McGowan, of Humberside Police said: “We will continue to take positive action against these individuals to make our community a safer place.

“This kind of criminal activity will not be tolerated, the collaborative approach for both of these investigations has meant we have been able to take a substantial amount drugs off the streets of Hull.

“If you have information about drug dealing or cultivation in your area call us on our non-emergency number 101 and let us help make our communities safer for everyone."
