Humberside Police have arrested a man aged 31 on suspicion of a range of driving offences after a lengthy pursuit by officers early today (Sunday 17th May).

The force received reports of a man driving erratically, possibly under the influence of alcohol and live streaming it on Facebook around 1.30am.

They located a car acting suspiciously at South Ferriby around 1.30am - the driver failed to stop.

A pursuit then followed through Barnetby, Elsham and Bonby with the car driving the wrong way on both the A15 and M180 at times.

Police say the tactical commander was the Force Incident Manager who instructed officers to hold back at certain times to ensure the safety of other road users.

The car was further pursued after coming off the motorway at junction four, travelling through Brocklesby and Ulceby and was stopped using "tactical contact" at South Killingholme around 2.30am.

The driver remains in custody, on suspicion of driving over the limits, failing to stop and driving when disqualified.

Humberside Police's Inspector Rob Grunner said, "All of the officers involved showed extremely high levels of expertise and skill in bringing the incident to a safe conclusion, whilst ensuring there was no risk to the public and other road users.

"Thankfully there were no injuries sustained by anyone."
