Lorry driver jailed over Hull Spring Bank crossing deaths

A lorry driver has been sentenced for causing the deaths of a mother and daughter in Hull.

Neville Fletcher has been sentenced to 14 months in prison after he killed Zena Jackson and her 6-year-old daughter Cidalia.

It happened on a pedestrian crossing near Stanley Street on Spring Bank in April when the mother and daughther were knocked over.

Fletcher drove his lorry through a red light. He had admitted to causing death by dangerous driving at an earlier hearing and was sentenced at Hull Crown Court this afternoon.
