From Monday people will be able to meet in groups of six outside including in a private garden.

The government guidelines also outline that you can meet in groups of up to two households.

Outdoor sporting classes and events will be able to start up again including tennis, basketball courts and open air swimming pools.

People are still being advised to stay and work from home as much as they can along with keeping two metres apart when out and about.

With all this in mind - there is a call for people in the East Riding not to become 'complacent' when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic.

Andy Kingdom, Public Health Director, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:

“We're not out of the woods yet. We can see the way out. The vaccine is doing amazing things in bringing numbers down, saving lives and stopping transmission and that's in our favour, but we still have a very highly transmissible virus out there.”

"There's still 112,000 people who haven't been vaccinated yet so plenty of roots for the virus to get to the most vulnerable, and we still have something like 60-odd people in our local hospital. So the message would be unfortunately we need to stick to the basics. If we don't and we are complacent, we will just increase the infection numbers.”

Meanwhile - North East Lincolnshire has seen a drop in its infection rates since March the 17th, however, the region still remains in the top 30 highest rates nationally.

The RNLI in Cleethorpes are urging visitors to keep their distance and stay safe as they expect to see more people flock to the beaches next week as half term starts on Monday for most schools in the area.

Matt McNally from the group said:

“The Easter holidays are often the start of our busy season and this year its going to be the case more than ever. Our volunteers are postponing their holidays to make sure that we’ve got life saving cover available. Its worth remembering that its impossible to social distance in a life boat that’s 2 metres by 5 metres.”
