Lifeguards are returning to beaches in Bridlington.

It is as East Riding of Yorkshire Council has renewed its agreement with the RNLI.

It means there will be lifeguards at weekends in June at three beaches in Bridlington: Bridlington North, Bridlington South and Bridlington South Cliff.

From Saturday 3rd July, the service will be provided on weekdays as well, and will also include Hornsea and Withernsea.

Councillor Mike Medini, portfolio holder for cultural and leisure assets, said:

“I am delighted that we have been able to work with the RNLI again to fund the provision of this vital service, and I look forward to its further expansion for the summer holidays.”
