Libby Squire’s killer pulls out of meeting with her mum in prison
Lisa Squire was hoping to get answers from Pawel Relowicz after he was sentenced to 27 years for the rape and murder of her daughter
The mum of murdered Hull student Lisa Squire says she feels let down after her daughter’s killer has withdrawn his consent to meet her in prison.
21 year old Libby Squire was sexually attacked and murdered after a night out with friends in 2019.
Pawel Relowicz is serving a 27 year sentence for raping and murdering Libby.
Her mum Lisa was hoping to meet with Relowicz after he agreed to meet with her but on Thursday last week, her restorative justice officer told her he had withdrawn his consent.
Lisa said:
“It hit me harder than expected, I wasn’t feeling very well that week anyway. On the Friday morning, I woke up feeling really unwell and tearful and it kind of made me feel like I’d taken a few steps backwards and that I was letting Libby down again.
“I said from day one I don’t want to blame thing or be hateful towards him, I just need to know what happened to her and I was a step closer to finding out what happened to her. And then when it was taken away, it flawed me a bit.”
