The Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, has been in Hull today to hear about a prisoner mentoring scheme.

The project, run by Hull and East Yorkshire MIND charity, was set up four years ago to cut reoffending rates in the city.

80% of prisoners suffer with a mental health condition and the scheme has already helped more than 200 ex-prisoners - with over half of the people they've supported not going on to reoffend.

ÂŁ35,000 a year is being given to the project by Humberside's Police and Crime Commissioner, Matthew Grove.

Jeremy hunt visited Hull and East Yorkshire MIND earlier today to discuss the success of the project.
