Jake Livermore Thanks Fans For Their Support
It's after he returned to the squad last night in Tigers' 1 nil cup victory over Swansea City.
Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore has thanked fans for their 'overwhelming' support after he returned to the squad last night.
It was his first appearance for the team since failing a drugs test at the end of last season.
He started against Swansea City in the Tigers' 1-0 win in the third round of the League Cup at the KC Stadium.
He was given a standing ovation from fans when he was brought off the pitch in the 68th minute of the game.
Livermore has now taken to Twitter to thanks supporters and fellow players for the support he received. He tweeted:
"Can't thank the fans enough for the overwhelming support and reception I received last night.
"Also my team mates thank you for your support throughout. These words won't explain the feeling but was great to be back in the shirt and play in front of my family and by that I mean each and every fan and friend who suuported me through this as well.
"Great result too, onwards and upwards."
The 25-year-old was spared suspension by the Football Association earlier this month due to the specific and unique nature of the case and how he and his family had been affected by his son, Jake Junior's death.
