We spoke to Councillor Rob Pritchard about the issue.

"I always think it's part of Hull's DNA."

"Currently we have volunteers on a programme where they're trying to integrate people."

Together we can celebrate our common values

"That's to make them feel welcome but also it's an opportunity to give back to the city."

"It's a time once a year to stop and reflect - to raise the awareness of refugees."

"Also to celebrate what we've got in common and learn the stories about why people have ended up in Hull."

"What brought them here?"

"What lives they lived and why they're seeking a better life elsewhere."

"Refugee Week is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of welcoming and supporting the people who arrive here, and together we can celebrate our common values and the contributions migrants and refugees made and make to our communities yesterday, today, and tomorrow.”
