Immingham street reopened as armed stand-off comes to an end

Immingham Street reopened following end of armed stand-off.

Police told Viking FM after nearly five hours of the police negotiating with a man with a firearm to come out of a property on Ancholme Avenue, Immingham, the incident has thankfully come to a close.

At 7.45pm this evening (5th September 2016) a 37-year-old man was successfully negotiated out of a property on Ancholme Avenue and a number of firearms have been recovered and made safe.

The man is currently on his way to a police custody suite, arrested in connection with criminal damage, threats to life and section 16 of the firearms act.

We are pleased to say no-one was hurt during the stand-off and residents can return to their properties.

A great team effort by all officers involved in this high risk and pressured incident. Some of the officers to be praised include; negotiators, firearms, joint specialist operations unit, community officers and our police dogs.
