Humberside Police: Most common arrested names and reasons

The force has revealed a list of names, all of which are male

Force records released under a freedom of information request show Daniel topped Humberside Police’s list of the almost 40 most common names.

Daniel was followed by David, Michael, Paul, James, Andrew, Mark, Lee, John and Christopher, making up the top 10 for arrests in the year up to Tuesday, December 8th 2020.

Humberside Police records also listed the offences those with the names were arrested for, including abduction, familial sex offences, murder and illegally possessing firearms.

Abstracting electricity, or the illegal siphoning of power from grids, abuse of position of trust of a sexual nature, home burglaries with weapons and aggravated vehicle taking were also among the offences.

The latter refers to the stealing of vehicles which are driven dangerously before the police catch the perpetrator.

Animal cruelty also featured, as well as two antisocial behaviour offences, breaches of criminal behaviour orders and failure to comply with exclusion orders.

A total of 11 offences were all assaults, including actual bodily harm, common assault, two kinds of grievous bodily harm, assault on police offices and racially aggravated attacks.

Eight of the offences were public order related, including for religious and racial reasons, violent disorder, affray, harassment and distress.

A total of 11 of arrests made were theft related, including of vehicles, from employers, shops, mail and bicycles.
