Humber Prison Among Worst Places For Prisoner Suicide

The number of suicides in prisons rose to it's highest level in 7 years last year.

East Yorkshire's among the worst areas for prisoner suicides. HMP Humber's among six institutions that saw a total of 3 inmates taking their own lives last year - while there was also another case at Full Sutton prison. According to the Howard League for Penal Reform, the number of suicides in prisons rose to its highest level in 7 years in 2014. Nationally, 82 prisoners comitted suicide in prison - 14 of them were aged between 18 & 24.
