In a statement an IPCC spokesperson said:
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has begun an independent investigation after a man was injured during an incident in Hull this morning involving armed officers from Humberside Police. IPCC investigators have been deployed to the scene and are attending police post-incident procedures.
