Hull parents unhappy about school uniform charges
Council meeting to discuss prices later today
Parents in Hull say they're out of pocket after forking out hundreds of pounds for new school uniforms.
Figures show there has been a £100 increase in the cost of school uniforms since 2015.
The Hull Liberal Democrats will be bringing up the issue at a full council meeting later today.
We spoke to Councillor Jack Haines.
He says "school uniform costs have risen so high now, with a lot of people paying out three hundred pounds on average ".
"That is just way too much money to be spending".
"We've recognised this issue after so many parents raised this".
"If it's passed hopefully our Chief Executive will be writing to Government about this".
"We'll be speaking to academy trusts about it and ensuring this can be actually affordable".
