Hull KR's Brad Takairangi given suspended prison sentence for driving offences
The Rugby Super League club put out a statement today
Hull KR centre Brad Takairangi has been given a suspended 12-month jail sentence and 300 hours' community service for serious driving offences, the Super League club have confirmed.
The Cook Islands international was sentenced at Hull Crown Court on Wednesday (6th April) after accepting charges last month. The prison term was suspended for two years.
Takairangi, 32, had been stood down by Hull KR pending the sentencing hearing but will now be available for selection.
A club statement read:
"Hull KR can confirm Hull Crown Court has today sentenced Brad Takairangi to a 12-month prison sentence suspended for two years and 300 hours' community service for serious driving offences.
"The club have also undertaken and concluded an internal disciplinary procedure and Brad is now available for selection if, and when, required.
"The club are satisfied that Brad understands the gravity of this one-off incident and its potential consequences on an otherwise exemplary record, that he is genuinely remorseful and is keen to make reparation through his work in the community."
