The announcement was made by the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sebtamu, on a visit to the city today (Monday 7 November).

It comes exactly two years to the day since Archbishop Sentamu spoke at the launch of Holy Trinity's ÂŁ4.5m transformation project.

Dr John Sentamu will return on May 14 next year to make the church Hull Minster.

Dr John Sentamu laid a paving stone in Trinity Square as part of the area's regeneration work.
