Hull have given back-rower Manu Ma'u a new contract for 2022.

The Tonga international, who captained his country to an historic victory over Australia in 2019, has made 33 appearances for the Black and Whites since joining them from Parramatta on a two-year deal ahead of the 2020 season.

Hull coach Brett Hodgson said:

"Manu has been excellent for us this season - he's shown some real character and led by example throughout the campaign.

"He's got better with every game throughout the season and adds some real prowess to our options at back-row.

"We're delighted to have him tied down for another year and to continue to be a really key leadership figure within the group."
