The founders of an eating disorder charity in Hull that’s had their funding cut after 10 years – have been left distraught.

SEED say they’re going to lose 25k a year in funding and their resource room which was part of the contract from City Health Care Partnership in Hull.

It was set up in 2000 by Marg and Dennis Oaten as they fought to save their daughter, Gemma's life.

A go fund me page has been set up.

Marg told us "we've know for 3 weeks the resource room is going to go and our funding's going too but I don't think it's really sunk in yet".

"We made the resource room our own, we've welcomed many people in here, we've saved many a persons life".

"Why it's been cut I don't know".

A spokesperson for City Health Care Partnership in Hull says the funding will be reinvested into Evolve so they can increase the support provided to its service users and carers and has thanked SEED for their work over the last three years.
