Hull no longer has the highest coronavirus rates in the country, after more than a week of battling to bring down figures.

A district of Kent has overtaken the city, where local leaders are now holding their own emergency meetings.

Rates in Swake are now estimated to be at 631.7 cases per 100,000 people for the seven days to November 18th.

It's come after Government ministers met with Hull City Council last week to discuss extra support.

Public health officials in Hull are still pleading with people in the city to follow the lockdown measures, which are due to be lifted next week.

It's "likely" that Hull will then enter the toughest tier of restrictions- which could see some bars and restaurants remain closed.

The Government will meet leaders in Hull at the end of next week to review any progress made in bringing down coronavirus rates.
