Hull West and Hessle's MP has confirmed that all persons have been accounted for and are safe, following the fire at a factory in Hessle.

Emma Hardy says she's spoken to Humberside Fire and Rescue, who have provided a series of updates, including that the fire is "surrounded."

Firefighters are working with a series of partners, including the Environment Agency, to contain water and check smoke particles.

The fire service is using 10 fire engines and lots of varied equipment and resources and have been told that nationally more can be made available if needed.

At 7.30pm, 75 homes were without electricity. Northern Powergrid are working to resolve the issues, and have teams working in the area.

On social media, Emma added: 'As soon as I know more I will share it. Take care everyone and thanks so much to everyone who has reached out to offer support, we are blessed with such an amazing community.'
