A Grimsby travel agent is hoping the government’s plans pull off to bring more countries out of the red list as furlough comes to an end.

There are reports of a new two tier system to replace the traffic light which means people will be told which countries they can and can’t go to.

Ralph Thacker is from Hops Travel in Grimsby who says taking countries off the red list will mean more bookings will be made so they will be needing more staff.

Ralph said:

“I think it's definitely time that these steps go forward, at the moment we've got the promise of furlough ending at the end of the month and we've got to bring all our stuff back full time so we need to be able to sell more destinations to keep afloat.”

PCR tests for double jabbed holiday makers are set to be scrapped in the announcement this week;

Ralph added:

“It's only going to be a good thing to be able to send more people on holiday to more destinations with less restrictions. We have got customers that don't know whether they need 234 tests so yeah great news yet again another way that it's going to prove easier to send people on holiday taking your passport to the airport and that is it is where we want to be moving towards.”
