Grimsby Man Jailed for Botched Multi-million Pound Drug Smuggle
A Grimsby man is one of three British men who've been jailed for attempting to smuggle millions of pounds worth of cocaine.
A Grimsby man's been sent to prison in Ireland for his role in a botched £200 million cocaine smuggling plot. 28 year old Thomas Britteon is one of three British men jailed. He's been given eight years. John Powell, 70, of Silsden, West Yorkshire, was handed 10 years for skippering a yacht intercepted off the Irish coast last year with 41 bales of the drug onboard. Benjamin Mellor, 35, of Bradford, West Yorkshire was sentenced to eight years for his role. They were all arrested on board a luxury yacht last September in the Atlantic ocean 200 miles off the south west coast of Ireland.
