Grimsby Football Fans Throw Missiles and Kick Police
Police want anyone who knows anything about a group of Grimsby Town football fans who threw missiles in Sheffield to come forward.
Two police officers have been injured by a group of Grimsby Town football fans in Sheffield. Disorder broke out in the city centre ahead of their game against Alfreton on Easter Bank Holiday Monday before spreading to the railway station. British transport police say the supporters were throwing missiles and pushed and kicked officers. Investigating officer Detective Constable Ian Grice said: “A number of Grimsby fans caused disorder in the city centre before heading to the station where their rowdy behaviour continued. Fans threw missiles and pushed and kicked at police officers resulting in two BTP officers being injured. “I would urge anyone who witnessed this disorder to contact police immediately. Anti social behaviour like this, football related or otherwise, will not be tolerated.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police.
