Fly tippers in Hull to be "named and shamed"

Hull City Council is to start publishing CCTV footage of people littering in a bid to tackle the crime.

Fly tippers in Hull are to be "named and shamed".

The local authority's to start publishing CCTV footage of those littering in the city in a bid to tackle the crime.

It's so that the public can help identify them.

It's to also help get Hull looking its best for 2017 City of Culture.

It follows the launch of Hull City Council's 'Operation Stop the Drop' campaign last month to crackdown on fly tipping.

A council spokesperson said:

"In a concerted effort to get the city looking its best for 2017 and by working together to tackle these problems we will help to make a huge, positive difference to the local environment as well as keeping our city clean for the influx of visitors are expecting during and after our year as City of Culture."
