It's just hours till Hull's boxing stars Luke Campbell and Tommy Coyle put their friendship aside and meet in the ring in a big summer showdown in the city.

Local pride will be at stake when the pair fight it out in a World Lightweight Title eliminator tomorrow night.

Around 15,000 fans are expected to pack the KC Lightstream Stadium for the long-awaited Rumble On The Humber event.

Olympic Gold medalist, Luke Campbell, said:

“I should be in with Tommy or better, and once I deal with Tommy in good style then we'll step up again against the next opponent and prove myself again.

“I don't dislike Tommy, he's an obstacle in the way to reach my goals - that's it. When all the talking is done and it's just me and him in the ring, that's it, not talking, boxing.

“There's a nasty streak in me, definitely. People can take me however they want to take me, but as soon as the bell goes then I want to hurt the guy in front of me.”

Meanwhile Tommy Coyle said:

“I am a big underdog, Luke's an exceptional fighter. But I am a professional and I have prepared as hard as ever, it doesn’t matter if I am fighting Luke Campbell or Donald Duck.

“I didn’t expect to get this far in my career. I really believe I am too much for Luke Campbell at this stage of his career, I really do, and I am going to go in there and knock him out. I'll prove all the critics wrong on Saturday.

“If I can find a way to get up, I will, and I'll keep coming at you - I don't believe that Luke Campbell has that in his DNA. He's an exceptional fighter and he's better than I'll ever be, but this fight won't come down to that, I'm too much for him too early.”
