Eating disorder patients in Northern Lincolnshire addicted to weight-loss jabs

Concerns are growing in Northern Lincolnshire about the misuse of weight-loss injections by people living with eating disorders.

Specialist teams in the county say they’re now receiving referrals linked to the harmful use of the jabs.

Mandy Barker, who heads up Community Eating Disorder Services in North and North East Lincolnshire, says the trend is worrying.

Mandy said:

"We've started getting referrals through for people now who have access the job mainly when they're trying to come off it.

"I dont know how these people are getting access. I think some of them have been maybe prescribed it through a health professional and some haven't. There's other means of getting hold of the jab."
