A Hull Veteran tells us he's amazed by people's generosity, after recieving hundreds of new tools, when his were stolen

Paul Matson runs the Hull for Heroes charity, and was volunteering on DIY SOS in Hessle when he was robbed,

He told us he was gutted, when he found his van opened and emptied.

But after an angry tweet from presenter Nick Knowles, calling out the thieves, donations to replace the missing equipment started flooding in;

Paul says the donations will even help the charity move forward as well:

"The charity was using my tools so we didn't have to buy them, so we could use the funds elsewhere.

"Now hopefully, Hull For Heroes will have all the tools it ever wanted, and I'll have all my tools back."

He went on to say the messages of support and donations are just overwhelming:

"Just yesterday a fireman came onsite and passed me an envelope and said read this later, I'm off...

"I opened the envelope, lovely message - it said 'You're the hero' and there was ÂŁ200 in it."

Paul plans to pass on any extra tools that have been donated to the Hull For Heroes charity to use.
