Further 744 people with coronavirus across Hull and the East Riding
The Government's latest rolling figures have been updated today
A further 744 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus across Hull and East Yorkshire today (Monday, December 24).
The Government’s latest rolling figures, updated today, show the number of infections recorded across the region was 2,930 for Hull and 3,299 in the East Riding in the seven days up to Wednesday, January 19, the latest with weekly data available.
A further 88,447 coronavirus cases were recorded nationally today, bringing the total to 15,953,685 since the pandemic began, with 56 more deaths making the total 153,916.
The figures come as people arriving in the UK from overseas will no longer have to take a lateral flow test (LFT) on arrival if they have been fully vaccinated from Friday, February 11.
They also come as the UK economy grew by its lowest rate in 11 months in January, according to the purchasing managers’ index (PMI), due to Omicron and particularly its impact on hospitality and leisure businesses.
