A community group in East Yorkshire are monitoring pollution levels in the area after growing concerns over the air quality.
People in North Ferriby say their recordings show levels are nine times higher than recommendations.
Claire Allmendinger walks her child to school along Melton Road every morning she says its putting her off doing the school run.
She said" I always encouraged my children to cycle to school thinking it was a healthy option they've actually left school now but I'm worried I may not have made the right decision".
"Should I have made them go alongside this road had I known about it at the time?".
We also spoke to another concerned local Mel Thackray who said "data and research shows air pollution has such a huge impact on health'.
"Air pollution is now considered to have more of an impact on health than smoking or obesity'
She wants more to be done to address the issue.
