Children safe after lock down at Hymers College in Hull

Police were called earlier on today.

Police were called today after reports of an armed intruder in the grounds of Hymers College in Hull.

The school was in lock down twice whilst Police investigated, all children were safe and left the school at around 4.30pm.

A Police statement says:

"Following the earlier incident, we can confirm that children at Hymers College were kept indoors for the second time today whilst further precautionary searches of the ground took place."

"This followed reports from a member of staff that a man had been seen in the grounds."

"The school returned the children safely to their parents from around 4.30pm. "
