There are calls for the Humber to have its own Elected Mayor - to help attract more funding and investment for our region.

The Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce - which represents local businesses - has written a joint letter to the Chancellor George Osborne and Secretary of State proposing the idea.

It's as they attempt to devolve more funding and economic power away from Whitehall and help create a Northern Powerhouse.

Dr Ian Kelly from the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce told us that an Elected Mayor is the best way forward in achieveing this. He told Viking FM:

"If devolution is coming what the business community wants is a strong, bright, strategic thinking local Mayor for the Humber, not weak local leadership which hands over our destiny to people in Leeds, Lincoln, or elsewhere".
