Bridlington urged to help with trail to mark Queen's Platinum Jubilee
The town's street trail group is asking residents, businesses and organisations to contribute to the special occasion
Bridlington's Street Trail Group is encouraging people to take part in an event to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
It is asking residents, businesses and organisations to create a royal-themed scarecrow.
There is also an event at the same time involving yarn bombing, with knitted and crocheted designs wanted to go on top of post-boxes.
The trail takes place from the 30th May to the 12th June.
Organiser Maggie Masters said: "We've decided to bring our summer seacrow trail forward. The yarn topping for the post-boxes is doing really, really well but we really need some more entries for the seacrow trail. At the moment we haven't got very many at all and it would be so disappointed for people to start doing the trail and only see a few. We really, really would like people to join in and this year we've got some prizes.
"We're putting pictures on our Facebook page to give people inspiration. There's obviously many Queens dressed up, there's two scarecrows sitting either side of a table having afternoon tea, there's a picture of a horse jumping a fence, a playing card, a crown, anything to do with something royal.
"It doesn't matter how big or how small. We're trying to encourage people to recycle and reuse bits and pieces that would otherwise go to landfill to make the scarecrows. It was really well received last year when we did our trail so please, please all join in. It doesn't matter how you make your scarecrow, just do it and have some fun."
