Body-worn cameras rolled out to all Humberside police officers

All Humberside Police officers are being given body cameras - to help protect domestic abuse victims and reduce attacks on officers.
1,500 will be supplied to over 1,700 officers across Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.
Assistant Chief Constable Chris Noble hopes it'll make prosecutions easier - particuarly in domestic abuse cases when a victim doesn't want to press charges:
"We have seen, in other areas that use body-worn cameras, in fact across the world, earlier guilty pleas, fast court cases,
"And on a number of occaisions, even when the victim has said they don't want to pursue that investigation, but because of our concerns for their safety we've still been able to pursue that investigation and bring that offender to justice.
"So it does give us other options when it comes to keeping people safe."
Since they were rolled out to frontline police in Hull in April - there's been no recorded assaults on officers.
Humberside's Police and Crime Commissioner Keith Hunter gave us this statement:
“The benefits of this type of equipment are beginning to be recognised and I hope and anticipate that there will be fewer assaults on officers, that victims will have to attend court less frequently and that more guilty people will be convicted.
“Many forces already have cameras but I’m determined that the force gets on the front foot and leads rather than follows so I provided the funds to buy this state of the art equipment, outstripping the capability of most other forces because our officers deserve to have the best tools available to do their job so that communities are best served by them."
