Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in the North Lincolnshire village of Belton.

Officers from the force were alerted to the scene at around 6pm on Saturday (December 14th) following reports of a serious collision.

When responders arrived on the scene, they found that a silver Seat Leon and an orange Kia Sportage had crashed into each other on High Street, which forms part of the A161.

Emergency services were called to the scene to deliver immediate medical treatment to those affected in the crash.

However, the driver of the Seat - believed to be a 27-year-old woman - was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The family of the victim have been notified of her death, with Humberside Police extending their thoughts to those who have been affected by her death.

As well as this, the passenger of the Seat vehicle, as well as those who were in the Kia Sportage, were taken to hospital - where they are being treated for minor injuries.

Humberside Police have now launched an investigation into the incident and are urging those who may have been in the area at the time of the crash to get in touch.

Those who may have any relevant information can reach out to police by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 344 from December 14th.
