Three teenage boys arrested over alleged assault in Grimsby

Police are questioning three teenagers over an alleged assault that left a man in hospital in Grimsby.

Officers were called shortly after 1pm yesterday after reports that a man has sustained injuries in an alleged assault on Haycroft Avenue in Grimsby following an altercation in a shop on Cromwell Road.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.

An investigation was launched and three teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of assault.

Detective Inspector Jayne Coutts said: “Investigations are underway and we would encourage anyone with information that may assist our enquiries to please come forward.

"We have arrested three teenage boys who are currently in custody and assisting with our enquiries.

“Those in the local area can expect to see an increased police presence over the coming days, both whilst we carry out enquiries and also to offer some reassurance.
