Five people have been arrested after police were called to a Grimsby street with reports of a man with an axe.

Five people have been arrested after police were called to a Grimsby street with reports of a man with an axe.

When they got to Stanley Street a group of people had gathered in the street, and a glass bottle was thrown at officers, this was before 9pm on Sunday (12th July).

Armed officers were sent as well as a dog unit and an axe was found.

Three people were arrested last night, a 22-year-old Grimsby man, a 23-year-old man of no fixed address and a 17-year-old Cleethorpes woman on suspicion on affray.

A 21-year-old Cleethorpes man was also arrested on suspicion of affray on Monday, and a 40-year-old woman from Cleethorpes was arrested on suspicion of witness intimidation.
