Motorcyclist who died in East Yorkshire crash named

A motorcyclist who died in a crash on a major road in East Yorkshire has been named as 59-year-old Stephen Chapman.

He was confirmed dead at the scene after colliding with a car on Staithes Road near to Preston early on Tuesday morning.

A 33-year-old man has been released under investigation after being arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Police say they're investigating reports of a car driving on the wrong side of the road, before colliding with a motorbike.

Humberside Police say: "We are appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to us to get in touch. If you saw either the collision itself, the vehicles prior to the collision or anyone nearby behaving in a suspicious manner after the collision, please call our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 48 of 2 March."
